Winter Wardrobe Roundup; Mott & Bow Sweater; Faux Leather Skirt

It’s that time of year again! I’m doing my seasonal roundup of my favorite pieces I’ve scored to wear in the coming months. For this winter wardrobe roundup, I’m sharing some of my favorite winter wardrobe staples to get you through the holiday season and beyond. From cozy turtlenecks to faux leather skirts, and a couple different footwear options, each piece can be dressed up or down to meet your style and needs. Read on to get all the details!

Cozy Turtleneck

I’ve talked about them before, but I love Mott & Bow’s line of cashmere sweaters. They have options for men like this beige sweater that my husband loves, along with the turtleneck pictured above. Each option is super soft and cozy! I love how you can dress them up with a skirt and boots, or dress them down with your favorite pair of worn in jeans and sneakers. They are also really lightweight, which makes the sweaters easy to layer under coats for the chilly winter months.

Made from a cashmere yarn sourced from Inner Mongolia, these lightweight sweaters feel airy. As an added bonus, the material provides pill resistance so your sweaters appear like new for longer.

Note: If you need to freshen up your sweater, consider a sweater shaver (linked here) to revitalize your old cashmere or other soft materials.

If you’re looking for extremely budget friendly cashmere. Consider an alternative material that will give you the same look and feel for less. Target’s new “cashmere-like” line of sweaters are extremely reasonable, and if well taken care of, can appear to be high quality as well. The turtleneck has a great cut and looks extremely high quality.

Faux Leather Skirt

Leather is all the rage right now (but let’s be real, it’s always cool). With that said, leather skirts can be tough if they don’t conform right to your body. This faux leather option is a steal, plus it fits really well and has a bit of give to it, so it’s extremely comfortable.

The high waist makes it extremely flattering, and it’s a good length that is modest while still being considered a mini skirt. The side slit also makes it more functional so when you walk, the skirt doesn’t slide up. I have this in two colors, and for the price, you really can’t ask for anything better! Every time I wear one of my skirts I get tons of compliments. I’ve linked it here in black and in brown.

Knee High Boots

I’m a huge fan of knee high boots for winter, and one of my favorite brands is Dolce Vita. The boots are super high quality, have consistent fit, and even with a high heel, are comfortable enough to wear all day. The best part about this brand in my opinion, is that when you invest in a pair of boots, you know that you’ll have them for a long time.

Buying inexpensive boots can be great for trendy pieces, but often the quality of the materials makes it so they will give out over time. When you invest in quality pieces and treat them with care, you can enjoy them for longer. As an added bonus, the company has great sales! This pair of boots has a comfortable and flattering block heel, and they are on sale! They also come in suede, which pairs well with a leather skirt. The contrasting textures adds interest without leather overload.

Wide Leg Jeans

I’m all about the wide leg jean trend because it can be very flattering on a variety of body types. The palazzo style is typically fitted through the butt, and wide through the thigh and calf, which makes it comfortable and flattering. One thing to keep in mind with wide leg jeans is that you may need a different length based on the shoes you’re wearing, so be mindful of this if you’re someone who typically needs to hem your jeans. You’ll have to figure out the exact style that works for your body, but I prefer a high waste to make the leg line look longer and taller.

Mules

Mules are great to elevate your outfit while still keeping things extremely easy and comfortable. To keep things casual, try this Birkenstock dupe from Target. Pair them with high socks and leggings for an effortless trendy look.

To dress up those wide leg jeans, try this block heel option, or this pointed toe option to elongate your legs.
