Office attire gets a bad wrap, but in reality, work-appropriate clothing can be really trendy and stylish! I’ve talked about this before, but I don’t dress a whole lot different when I’m working than when I’m not working with the exception of swapping out slacks for a pair of jeans. It’s all about figuring out what makes you feel good at the office! I’m sharing the best outfits for the office and how you can make them work for you!
Peplum top with skinny pants or a pencil skirt
This is by far one of my favorite looks when it comes to the best outfits for the office. It is effortless and the peplum has built in structure which automatically help to flatter any figure. The key to successfully rocking a peplum is understanding that it pairs best with a fitted bottom. The flair at the waist cerates a beautiful hourglass shape when paired with a pair of fitted pants or a skirt, however when paired with a full skirt or loose pants, the peplum can look frumpy and make the body appear wider.
Throw a blazer on top of almost any outfit to pull it together
I’ve always loved jackets, which probably comes from growing up in the constant fog of San Francisco. While not a full blown jacket, a blazer can be paired with almost any item of clothing, and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. If you haven’t already, I would highly suggest that you try to fall in love with blazers. A great blazer can also create multiple outfits when utilizing one underlying piece. I often fall back on my favorite little black dress or skirt and blouse option, but change up the look with different blazers. The reality is that no one will really notice the blank canvas underneath; they’ll just focus on the outer layer.
The shirt dress
One piece and you’re done. A shirt dress is one of the easiest outfits you’ll ever put together. You can absolutely accessorize your look, but if you’re in a hurry and need to get out of the house quickly while still looking polished and put together, the shirt dress should be your go-to piece. One item and you’re out the door. It doesn’t get much simpler than that!
