Spring/Summer Wardrobe Staples You Can Wear to Work and Beyond

With the ongoing pandemic, we’ve all become accustomed to wearing more comfortable clothing, however as more people are asked to return to the office, in-person meetings, and in-person events, dressing in clothing other than leggings is becoming more common once again. Here are some Spring and Summer wardrobe staples you can wear to work, dress up for dinner/drinks with friends, or feel comfortable enough running errands in.

Grey, High Waist, Slightly Relaxed Fit Jeans:

Full disclosure: I’ll never give up my high waist skinny jeans, but these jeans from Mott & Bow feel like a great compromise that are both comfortable, chic, and on-trend with the slightly more relaxed fit. Keep in mind that though the reviews mentioned that this style runs small, I found them to be very true to size. These are definitely in the running for my new favorite jeans to dress up or down! The fit is perfect, they are soft, but hold their shape well, and the dark grey color is spot on to wear to work and beyond.

French Terry Sweatshirt:

This sweatshirt is a comfort item that feels like more elevated item that you can wear to work. Pair it with a pair of jeans, an embellished shoe, and maybe a paperclip chain necklace, and you’re good to go for a business casual workday! This sweatshirt is unlined so it’s not thick enough that you’ll get hot, but is warm enough to layer over a camisole if you have to suffer through the dreaded office AC unit that makes you shiver.

Embellished Flat Sandals:

These flat sandals with chain detail from target are an affordable way to dress up your comfortable clothes for work, while still maintaining the flexibility of wearing a flat sandal. They come in a variety of colors, which means that you can easily mix and match, or pick a neutral color that will become a versatile wardrove item that you can wear to work and beyond!

Medium Blue, Mid Waist, Slightly Relaxed Fit Jeans:

Similar to the grey jeans, these slightly relaxed fit jeans feel like a great alternative for those of us still on the skinny jean trend while trying to test the waters of a more relaxed fit. If you prefer a higher waist jean that hits more at the natural waist, Mott & Bow’s “Mom” style jeans (the grey jeans listed above) are for you. If you like a mid waist style that hits just below your belly button but is no where near low rise, this slim boyfriend style is for you! Much like the grey jeans, these jeans are soft, hug in all the right places, and have a slightly relaxed leg that is super comfortable to wear to work whether you are sitting at a computer, at a meeting, or on your feet all day.

Boxy Semi-Crop T-Shirt:

What more is there to say about a classic, soft t-shirt? This boxy style is perfect to do a half tuck with, and can easily be dressed up or down for nearly any outfit regardless if you’re going to wear it to work or throw it on with your leggings to go grocery shopping!

Relaxed Fit Blazer:

This relaxed fit blazer is a great way to pull together an outfit or dress up your jeans that you want to wear to work. With that said, the relaxed fit makes it a comfortable wardrobe staple so you don’t feel any material pinching or pulling while you’re sitting at work, running errands, or spending time with friends. It also comes in both a black and a blush color, so you have two colors to choose from based on which neutral would work best with your wardrobe.

Block Heels:

I love these block heels from target because they are simple, comfortable, and can dress an outfit up without feeling like you’re wearing heels that pinch your feet. The block heel makes this pair of shoes much more feasible to wear all day, while still adding a bit of height (that’s important if you’re short like me!) which can easily make an outfit feel more pulled together.

**Note that these Mott & Bow items were gifted in exchange for a review, however my reviews are all honest representations about the quality, fit, and style**
