Five Boots You Can Wear To Work (Or Anywhere Else)

One of my favorite parts of the cold weather is getting to pull out my boots, so I wanted to talk about how to style different kinds of boots for different occasions. Here are five boots you can wear to work, but you can really wear these to practically any event or occasion.

Combat Boots

When it comes to wearing combat boots to work, it’s not a problem in most business casual offices, but keep in mind that they are fairly casual, so you’ll want to dress up the rest of your outfit a bit to make them more work appropriate. I’ve paired these combat boots with black jeans and a silky blouse to make them appear a little more elevated. Fun fact: when I worked at Nordstrom I wore these boots a lot because they were so comfortable and I could stand in them all day! Combat boots are a lot more versatile than people think; it’s just about styling them in a way that works for you and fits in with your style and aesthetic.

Booties

Booties are a great option when you’re considering boots you can wear to work because they are so versatile. You can wear them with skinny jeans, throw them on with a pair of wide leg slacks, or even pair them with dresses. I love the ease of booties with skinny jeans, but a great way to wear them for the office is to pair them with tights and a dress for great fall inspired look. These booties are super versatile and can be styled with nearly any outfit.

Peep Toe Booties

Peep toe booties are another super versatile option that is especially great for areas with warmer fall and winter seasons. Here in California I like to think that it gets chilly, but in reality, you could probably wear a pair of peep toe booties throughout the year. I love styling peep toe booties with a long maxi skirt, blouse, and blazer. To step things up a notch, try a velvet maxi skirt to make your outfit feel luxe in the cooler temperatures. These are some of my favorite peep toe booties.

Knee High Boots

When debating on different boots you can wear to work, knee high boots are a classic option. They can be styled with pants, dresses, or skirts, and lend well to various workwear pieces such as blazers no matter what kind of dress code you’re working with. When shopping for knee high boots, consider how you wear them most. If you wear them most with pants, you’ll want to look for boots that are wider in the calf area. If you get boots that are too narrow in the calf, they will feel very tight when worn over pants which can be really uncomfortable. Franco Sarto boots are some of my favorite because they are super comfortable and last well over time. When you invest in quality leather boots, all they need is a little TLC and some leather conditioner to revive them.

Rain Boots

Yup you read that correctly: rain boots! Rain boots aren’t the same as they used to be when you were a kid. Sure, there are still big rubber galoshes that you can buy, however there are much more sophisticated options for rain boots you can wear to work. My favorite brand of rain boots you can wear to work is Blondo. Take a look for yourself: I bet you’d never guess that these boots are fully waterproof rain boots right? Technology has come a long way!
