These tips will work for any occasion from work, to a coffee date, or just simply running errands around town. The key elements to any great outfit are color, texture, pattern, and shine, and these get amplified over the holidays! Whenever you want to add a bit of festive flair, just amp up one of the key elements!
Embrace color
I’ve chosen to go with colored denim for this look, but during the holidays, one of the best ways how to add a festive flair to any outfit is to add in a pop of color. Try colored pants, a colored top, or even a colored blazer! If you’re not feeling that adventurous, you can always add a bit of color in your shoes, in a purse, or for men in a tie or bowtie.
Add shine
The holidays are all about glitz and glam, so one of the easiest ways how to add a festive flair to any outfit is to amp up the shine factor. This means jewelry, embellishments, and you can even embrace it with the makeup you’re wearing. I’m not one for a lot of glitter and jewels on my clothing, so I love to enhance the shine element of my outfit through jewelry. Here I’ve chosen to go with a large silver necklace to add some interest and appeal to my outfit. Different embellishments and jewelry will also add texture, which is one of the core elements to a great outfit.
Play with different patterns
Patterns make an outfit fun, and can make things feel a bit more festive. This top has an embroidered pattern on it, and I love the blue and white ode to Hanukkah! On a similar note, the round circles also remind me of beautiful ornaments, adding even more festive flair to this look. Utilizing patterns throughout your wardrobe is an easy way to appear more fashion forward, and during the holidays patterns make your look feel more festive.
