One of the keys to winter wardrobe essentials is that they are versatile enough to wear in various situations. It’s always great to have a ski jacket and rain jacket that you can throw on over everything to stay dry, but more often you’ll find yourself needing essentials that can keep you warm at the office as well as on weekend or after-work outings.
I’ve rounded up my favorite pieces below:
A great pair of boots that are waterproof, but don’t look like it. I got these boots last year, and they have taken me everywhere from Alaska to Portland to San Francisco, and running errands around town. They are potentially the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned, and are easy to throw on with almost anything! Plus, they’re on sale!
A thick, open front sweater can easily be worn on it’s own over a long sleeve T or blouse, but it can also do double duty and layered under a coat (like I’ve done here) to change things up. This will keep you extra warm and snuggly (it was 27 degrees out and snowing a bit in this pic) while also keeping you stylish. I love how the sweater works as an overlay to effectively change the neckline of this coat.
A nice quality wool overcoat will last you an eternity, and can be worn anywhere or over anything. This works at the office, on the mountain, running errands, and can even be worn to fancy events over your dress attire. I got this coat years ago, but the same exact style comes back year after year because it’s classic. I’m always a fan of black, but the camel color works well to break things up while still keeping everything neutral and elegant.
When it comes to winter wardrobe essentials, versatility is the name of the game. Winter clothing can be bulky and hard to store, so investing in a few key pieces that you can wear everywhere will save you time, money, and storage. Plus, who doesn’t love feeling warm and cozy while also looking put together? Stay warm everyone!
