Fall is one of the most celebrated seasons, and it can be tempting to stock up on all of the new fall items we see in stores. With that said, it’s not smart to just go on a shopping spree or blow your budget by constantly picking up new items here and there. Instead, focus on a few key pieces that are versatile so you can get a lot of use out of them. Here are three items to add to your fall wardrobe.
Long sweater
When you want to transition your wardrobe for fall, it’s best to opt for lightweight fabrics so you can actually wear long sleeves and boots without getting too hot while the weather is still on the warmer side. Sweaters seem to have gotten longer over the years, and now there are a lot of floor length or “duster” style sweaters on the market. This long duster sweater is super soft, extremely versatile, and easy to wash and wear (it doesn’t shrink or wrinkle in the wash/dryer!). Best of all is that it’s under $25 from Target! (linked here) Note that if you click the link, you’ll notice that it looks shorter on the model. For reference, the model is 5’9″ and I’m 5’0″, so it’s much longer on me.
Light and cozy sweaters with a loose weave will be more breathable so you can still wear a sweater without sweltering.
High Waist Denim
There’s nothing like a great pair of jeans, and as the seasons begin to change, wearing denim again always gets me excited. In Southern California, most of the summer is way too hot to ever wear jeans, so when fall finally rolls around and the weather starts to cool off I always get excited to wear denim!
When it comes to three items to add to your fall wardrobe, a great pair of high waist skinny jeans is essential. High waist pants are super trendy, and I’m all for it! Say goodbye to having to worry about showing too much skin when you sit down or bend over to pick something up. If you’re like me and hate being conscious about that, high waist skinny jeans are key. You can tuck a blouse in for a flattering, waist defining shape, and skinny jeans allow you to tuck them into boots or wear them with pretty much any type of footwear. I love these jeans (pictured) because they are well priced and never stretch or sag.
Booties
Booties are one of my top three items to add to your fall wardrobe because if you find a pair that is cute and functional, they will be one of the most versatile pairs of shoes you own! I love this pair of booties (pictured) because after you break them in a bit they are super comfortable, but they’re also breathable which makes them a great transition item from summer to fall. They’re kind of a cross between a bootie and a pair of flats which makes them easy to wear with a ton of different outfits.
_______________
You may be tempted to buy all of the fall items currently in stores (I know I am), but restraint is key when it comes to being financially stable. Here are three items to add to your fall wardrobe that will be worth the buy. Go for booties, long sweaters, and high waist denim.
Cute look! I’m excited for both highwaist and bootcut jeans this season, as they are so petite friendly (and mom-belly friendly!) Nipa @fashionipa
Petite friendly is a must!
