Many people stress about what to wear for thanksgiving, so I’m sharing four thanksgiving outfit ideas to help you make your day as stress free as possible!
A comfortable dress that’s not too tight
Thanksgiving is largely about the food, so wearing a tight dress that isn’t comfortable or forgiving after you’ve eaten a ton isn’t a good idea. Think about it this way: spending time with family can be stressful, so ensuring that you are physically comfortable in your outfit will help keep you level headed. There’s nothing like feeling physically uncomfortable along with feeling mentally uncomfortable. If you’re feeling confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing, you’re likely to have a much better and less stressful holiday. This option is an easy long sleeve dress with built in shape since it cinches at the waist. This makes it an effortless option for thanksgiving, or to keep on hand as we move into party season.
Wide leg, high waist pants.
Wide leg high waist pants are flattering on almost any figure, and they’re very comfortable. This is the option that I chose for my thanksgiving outfit this year. Pants make a great thanksgiving outfit because you don’t have to worry about sitting on the couch in a particular way, (we’ve all had issues sitting on the couch in a skirt or dress) and they are pretty effortless. High waist, wide leg pants add a nice shape to the body while keeping comfort as a big factor. Try pairing the wide leg pants with a fitted sweater or long sleeve top to balance out the outfit and keep things easy. Simple is a good route to go on thanksgiving, and you can always dress your outfit up with jewelry or accessories.
A peplum top
Peplum tops are one of my favorite style of tops because they are flattering and forgiving at the same time. They are fitted at the chest and to the waist, then flare out which makes a peplum top a great option to camouflage the giant thanksgiving meal we tend to eat.
Try pairing your peplum top with a pair of fitted but comfortable pants for a simple and easy thanksgiving look. The peplum is flattering on most body types, can give your basic jeans and blouse an elevated feel, and is an easy last minute outfit to throw together for thanksgiving.
A cardigan over a nice blouse
A cardigan paired with a nice blouse is a great thanksgiving outfit that feels completely comfortable while still keeping your outfit appropriate and a little more upscale. A simple tank or t shirt under a cardigan might look too casual, but if you swap it for a silky blouse, it instantly feels more upgraded. You can make the look even more formal by adding on some extra jewelry and pairing it with some nice shoes.
A cardigan and blouse can be worn with a lot of different bottoms depending on how much you want to dress up. You can wear jeans, leggings, slacks, or even a skirt! It all depends on how you feel.
