We’re all trying to navigate this new normal and most of us have found ourselves spending more time at home than ever before. This quarantine comes with a rollercoaster of emotions, so it’s important to ensure your physical and emotional comfort. I’ve compiled this list of five wardrobe staples to get you through quarantine based on the items that I’ve found most comfortable and beneficial day after day. The best part of this is that everything on the list is under or around $50, so you don’t have to worry about dropping a ton of money in a time when we are all being extremely conscious about our budgets.
Leggings With Pockets
Last year during the Nordstrom anniversary sale I bought my first pair of leggings with pockets and have since purchased four more pairs of them. I didn’t realize how badly I wanted a pocket for my phone until I started wearing leggings daily during the pandemic, but having a place to conveniently place your phone without having to hold it makes nearly any task way easier. These are my absolute favorite leggings! They are super comfortable, good quality, and easily rival some of the more expensive versions. They hold up so well that I actually have several pair of Zella leggings from almost a decade ago that I still wear!
Sperrys
These Sperry boat shoes have been a lifesaver for me and constantly stay right by my front door. As a dog owner, these shoes are comfortable and easy to slip on to take the dog for a quick walk, get the mail, or take out the trash. The comfortable slip on design makes it easy to quickly put on shoes without using your hands or having to grab a pair of socks.
Bralette
While staying at home, many women have forgone the traditional bra, and wireless bra sales are up by 40% as women work from home amid coronavirus. If you don’t want to forgo a bra all together, but are looking for something more comfortable, this bralette is for you! This extremely affordable bralette is super comfortable, but still allows for some support with a very pretty aesthetic. Target came in for the win with this nearly perfect bralette!
Fuzzy Jacket
Does is get much better than a fuzzy jacket? Probably not, but as an added bonus, this super soft version from Uniqlo is very affordable and comes in a range of colors. It’s perfect to snuggle up on the couch with and easy to throw on for a quick walk with the dog!
Mask
Yes, wearing a mask isn’t always comfortable and it’s not something any of us want to put on while we are outside enjoying a bit of fresh air or getting groceries, but a mask is essential to help slow the spread of the virus that has put us in quarantine. If you are into DIY, there are great tutorials on how to sew a mask at home (I used this one), and tutorials on how to make a no-sew mask on the fly (link here).
If you want to buy one, consider supporting a small business or local craftsperson by purchasing a mask on etsy.
Whichever way you choose to make or obtain your mask, this item is one of five wardrobe staples to get you through quarantine. Out of all the items, this is probably the one you want to wear the least, but it is easily the most important item on here.
Be safe everyone!
