I am a total foodie, and I love eating, but I’ve never been one to go on diets. For me, it’s about balance, and part of how I achieve this is eating as many veggies as I can. I’ve found that an everyday green smoothie makes me feel better, and provides an extremely easy way to get veggies into my diet. I usually whip one of these up in the morning when I make coffee, and keep it with me for when I want a little snack. This smoothie is relatively low on sugar, and packed with nutrients like iron and omega 3 fatty acids from chia seeds. I always prefer smoothies to juices because smoothies keep all of the filling fiber of the fruits and veggies, where juices get rid of it. (That’s what’s in the pulp that is left over in your juicer after use).
So here we go, my everyday green smoothie recipe. It’s simple, delicious, and an easy way to eat more veggies!
- ¾ cup frozen mango chunks
- 2 packed cups of fresh spinach
- 1 – 1 ½ tsp whole chia seeds
- 1 cup water (plus more if you want it a little thinner)
I just put all of this into my nutribullet blender and blend until smooth. Side note, my boyfriend bought me the nutribullet a few years ago for my birthday, and I’ll never use anything else to make smoothies! It definitely pulverizes all of the seeds and chunks to make a smooth and creamy concoction.
There you have it; my everyday green smoothie. If you don’t like mango or want to use other ingredients, go for it, but this is a simple and easy way to eat more veggies to stay a little healthier. Enjoy!
