Anyone who knows me knows that I love fashion and I always aim to dress to impress, but sometimes I’m all about embracing casual vibes. During the week I stick with business casual wear, but on Fridays and on the weekends, I focus on embracing casual vibes in my clothing.
There’s something empowering about dressing “up.” It changes your demeanor and studies have shown that it influences the way we think. With this in mind, I always make sure that I’m dressed for work during the week, but I relish my times in jeans and a t shirt on the weekends. Let’s be real though: at this time of year, I tend to rock cozy sweaters and boots.
Embracing casual vibes means that you’re really enjoying your time off. Dressing to impress is important because you’ll always be judged on your appearance (yes it’s true, just accept it). However, giving yourself time to relax and recuperate is equally important. This doesn’t mean that you can’t still look good, but embracing a more casual and laid back appearance from time to time can help you relax and help your mind differentiate work time from social time.
For this look I paired my favorite striped sweater with dark wash jeans, boots, and a leather jacket (which I’m holding in the picture). This kind of outfit is the epitome of my weekend style: casual, put together, and comfortable. Maybe your weekend style looks completely different, and that’s fine. That’s the beauty of what makes our styles unique!
The important thing is that you give yourself the time and ability to relax and be comfortable in what you’re wearing. Dress differently than you do during the work week so that you can truly separate your weekends from the work week. Everyone has different ways of accomplishing this, but embracing casual vibes is what works best for me. Happy relaxing!
