I don’t care who says you can’t wear white after labor day, but that just isn’t true anymore. It’s all about how you style your white attire and what the fabric and texture are. For instance, I wouldn’t go flitting around in a white lace dress and sandals during November, but as you’ll see here, wearing white when styled correctly is perfectly appropriate.

For this outfit, I decided to rock my favorite white blazer. It is fully lined, has great structure, and I LOVE all of the little details such as the rose gold accents on the buttons. This blazer was made to wear in the fall, because no one would really want to wear a lined blazer during the summer heat. I’ve styled it with a black and white striped top (my favorite pattern) and a black pencil skirt. The patterned top ties the white in and breaks up the outfit from being solid black head to toe. You’ll notice however, that the white blazer is treated as the statement piece.

To style white in another way for fall, try color blocking. A great outfit option is to wear white pants with a darker blouse, and a longer overcoat. The longer jacket doesn’t have to be heavy if it isn’t very chilly out, but it can be a lightweight, ¾ sleeve topper too. The longer jacket will help the white pants look more fall appropriate, and give the outfit more balance.

White dresses are also a great options to pair with jackets and scarves, because they act as a blank canvas, making the other pieces really pop. Just make sure the fabric is season appropriate. A white tweed would look amazing! Try adding a colored accessory to your white dress based outfit for contrast.

Lastly, I adore a good white pump. When worn with black or royal blue for instance, it looks so crisp, clean, and super modern. Just make sure the rest of your outfit is sleek and ready for fall so you don’t look too summery.
